
Peter Murray
I am a Denver based artist producing mostly acrylic paintings. I am most well known for my abstract work, but I also paint flowers, landscapes, and plaids. And I got a “D” in art in the sixth grade.
I was born, and mostly grew up in the Washington DC area. My art journey began like most modern artists, when my mom caught me drawing on the walls of the house, and she redirected that energy rather than getting mad. A friend of my mom’s is an artist, and to help support a friend, I got some art lessons and some piano lessons. By high school, I was doing better with my art than my public high school could do, so I started taking classes at the local junior college. From there, I went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Art from Pratt Institute.
After relocating to Denver, Colorado in 2015, I found my way to the Denver Art Society, where I have a studio in the South West corner of the Underground. From there, I make
